We Love Boston

Over the past six years, God has given us tremendous love for the city and the people of Boston. We've been privileged with great friends and great church families. I have also been able to attend the Boston campus of Gordon-Conwell: the Center for Urban Ministerial Education. During this time we've also added to our family (T. J. and Trinity) so Boston is their "home town," and Boston has become "home" for us too.

Boston is unique among US cities. Nowhere else has nearly as much focused US history and culture. Additionally, Boston is an enormous center for education, with over 50 universities and colleges in the metro area. Each year over a quarter-million students flood the city from all over the nation and around the world. Boston hosts thousands of international students, many of whom will return to their home nations as influential leaders. For these reasons, and many more, Boston represents an invaluable opportunity and a crucial hub for world evangelization and church planting.

Despite its incredible wealth and political influence, Boston remains a city with equally great needs. The wealth disparity in Boston is drastic. Its not uncommon in Boston to see examples of extreme wealth and extreme poverty in neighborhoods that border one another. Sometimes such displays exist in the very same neighborhoods. Boston is also an incredibly diverse city. This diversity creates both a challenge and an opportunity.

We are excited to be part of this adventure God calls church. Boston is a great city for which God cares deeply, so God will build his church in Boston.
